Christmas Gift Cards, New Piglets, and Christmas Hams

Merry Christmas!
I’m pleased to announce the arrival of one of my best litters of piglets yet here on the farm.   It’s really important to not let a sow get too fat as she gets close to farrowing (giving birth) or any other part of her life cycle as this can cause complications in the birthing process. I’ve been learning that over the last two years, and this litter of piglets is evidence of improvement in that area.

Husking Garlic by the woodstove to add to our pig feed as a natural dewormer.  As a result of using Garlic and other natural products like black walnut husks and vinegar, worms are not a problem in our pigs and therefore, we do not need the use of chemical dewormers. Chemically deworming is a common practice in conventional livestock systems, which are producing the majority of the public food supply .

Christmas is almost here!  Give the gift of healthy food to a loved one and invest in the ecosystem that Mirror Image Farm influences through it’s farming practice.  Contact us for information and purchasing by following this link, or replying to this email.  Keep in mind that our gift certificates are redeemable for any of our products, and we plan to raise grass fed beef in 2017.

Also of interest: As a result of the holidays, the restaurants we source appear to be slowing down faster than we anticipated.  This means we have a few hogs available from the pasture.  Contact us before Thursday, December 8th if you would like to have a whole or half hog in your freezer before Christmas. Your Christmas ham will never be the same again.

END OF YEAR PORK SALE!  Everything in the freezer is 35% off!  Contact us and we’ll see if we have your preferred cuts it in stock, or you can stop by the farm and see what we have.
